Yes, dogs are very welcome in our gardens so long as they are kept on a lead – there is a cat who lives in our gardens called Dora – she does not suffer loose dogs! We cannot permit dogs inside the main house but we do make exceptions for support animals. Please email [email protected] to make arrangements for this, or for any further questions.

We have several spaces in our attached car park and parking is free while visiting the house and gardens. During the off-season, should you wish to go hiking or explore the nearby lakes and caves, all day parking tickets can be purchased from our ticket office. However, during peak-season (July and August) we ask that only people visiting the house and gardens use the car park as spaces are limited.

Rydal Mount continues to be the historic home of the Wordsworth family and is owned in joint partnership by the direct descendants of the poet.

Certainly – we sell garden tickets from the ticket office and bookshop, and have maps available for the five acres.
