Sketchbook Classes

Artistic workshops in a mountainside Romantic gardens.

Adult (16+) 16+ years old

Liz Wakelin, sketchbook artist, is holding workshops around the grounds of William
Wordsworth’s home for an exclusive opportunity to learn and develop artistic skills.

“Sketching is one of the best ways to record a walk or trek. Photographs capture only an instant but a drawing takes so much longer, requiring an investment of time to draw the scene. It makes you look so closely at an environment that it is seared into the memory in a way that photos – for me at least – cannot do.”

Liz is a teacher and sketchbook artist with a background in English, Outdoor Education and Art. She has a Visual Art degree from Winchester College of Art and is currently working on a book project to create a visual record of a year in Lakeland, commissioned by publishers Inspired by Lakeland.

These exclusive workshops will be available on select dates to small groups. Tickets are for the day (10am-4pm) and include £10 credit at the Schoolhouse Tearoom.

Please bring along a notebook. All other supplies will be provided!
