and Garden Tour, The Garden only tour and the Rydal Village walk.
House and Garden Tour:
Tour includes a guided tour of the historical gardens landscaped
by the poet and remaining close to his original design.
Enjoy the views of Lake Windermere and Rydal Water; experience
a little of the romantic ambience of this natural garden.
Relax in the poet’s library with a glass of chilled white
wine & some famous Grasmere gingerbread, soaking up the history
of this period of the ‘Romantics’ as the words of the
poet are read.
Then experience the lived-in family atmosphere as you wander freely
through the historical house of England’s Poet Laureate (1843).

Garden Only Tour:
Visit the gardens of one of England’s finest poets at Rydal
Mount, home to William Wordsworth for 37yrs from 1813 – 1850.
It was said of Wordsworth that if he had not been a success as a
poet he would have become a landscape gardener! Rydal Mount gardens
were landscaped by Wordsworth & remain very close to his original
design.
Enjoy a guided tour of this natural garden from the period of the ‘Romantics’,
which include Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, Keats….
Admire the magnificent views of Lake Windermere, Rydal Water and
the beautiful Fells of England’s Lake District while sipping
a refreshing glass of wine and nibbling some famous Grasmere gingerbread.
Soak up the peaceful atmosphere of this ‘most beautiful & enjoyable
spot’, so wrote Dr Thomas Arnold, one of William Wordsworth’s
friends, while some of Wordsworth’s poetry, which is so closely
related to nature, is read to you.
